“Why would I want to make phone calls with my iPod?” - Me in 2007

At first, the idea of getting an iPhone felt uncomfortable. Impractical. Even silly.

But over time, getting an iPhone became the obvious choice. No one had to convince me. It just proved how impractical my flip phone, iPod, camera, and all their cables were by simply being the more practical option.

Climate solutions have to do what the iPhone did — prove how inefficient, impractical, and expensive our existing stuff and systems are. And make them fun.

🚲 Like an ebike that will easily carry your groceries.

🍳 Or an induction range that plugs into a normal outlet.

💰 Or climate solutions funds that perform better than their fossil fuel counterparts.

Is there hope for adoption of climate change solutions? Definitely. But it’s never about convincing someone. It’s about showing how much better those solutions can be.
